About Us

We are a sheet metal manufacturer in southeast Calgary. We roll and form galvanized steel window wells, and covers in galvanized steel or aluminum, in our own plant, and we ship them to homeowners, builders and contractors across Canada.

Who you are buying from

This store is operated by Shop Window Wells Inc., a company registered in Alberta, Canada, with its registered address at 7042-30 St SE, Calgary, Alberta T2C 1N9. Every order placed on this site is manufactured, invoiced and shipped by Shop Window Wells Inc. from that plant.

We make what we sell

Most companies selling window wells buy them in from somebody else. We do not. Steel arrives at our shop as flat coil and leaves as a finished well. We control the gauge, the corrugation and the finish, which is why we can keep every stock size on the shelf instead of ordering it in when someone asks.

It also means a size that is not listed on the website is usually still possible. If your opening does not match a standard size, send us the measurements and we will quote it.

What we build

Galvanized steel window wells in 213 stock sizes, from 36″ to 96″ wide, with projections of 12″, 16″, 18″, 22″, 24″, 30″ and 36″, and heights from 12″ to 42″.
Gloss black powder coat on any of those same sizes, coated to order.
Window well covers in galvanized steel or aluminum, 21 stock sizes in each material, from 36″ to 88″ wide in 12″, 22″ and 30″ projections.
Custom sizes built to your measurements, in wells or covers.

Stock galvanized sizes ship in one to two business days. Powder coat takes one to two weeks, because each piece is coated after the order comes in.

If your well is an odd width, or a 16″, 18″, 24″ or 36″ projection, there is no stock cover that fits it. Send us the well dimensions and we will build a cover to suit.

Egress wells

A basement bedroom window has to open to a certain size, and there has to be clearance in front of it. That is why we carry 30″ and 36″ projections in stock right across the width range, rather than treating the deep sizes as specials you have to wait for.

We are happy to talk through what will fit your opening, but we are a manufacturer, not a code authority. The requirements that apply to your property are set by your local building department, and you and your contractor should confirm compliance with them before you buy.

Buying from us

Everything on this site is priced in Canadian dollars and ready to order online. Shipping is charged once per order rather than per item, so ordering several wells together for a whole house or a job site costs no more to ship than ordering one.

You are also welcome to collect your order from the plant at no charge. Pickup orders are usually ready within 24 hours.
