We roll and form every well in this catalogue at our plant on 30 Street SE, which puts Calgary customers about as close to the source as it is possible to get. No freight, no distributor, no waiting on someone else's stock.
What shapes a window well in Calgary is clay till over sandstone, with deep frost and chinook cycles in the same winter. Our plant is in the city, so you can collect your order yourself at no charge rather than pay for shipping.
We are a sheet metal manufacturer, not a reseller. Wells for Calgary are formed from 20-gauge G-90 galvanized coil in our own plant, which is what lets us hold 213 sizes in stock instead of ordering them in.
Getting one to Calgary
Calgary orders can be collected from the plant at no charge, usually within 24 hours of ordering. If you would rather have it delivered, shipping is a flat $189.99 CAD per order, the same rate we charge anywhere in Canada.
Pickup at the plant
Collection is free and orders are usually ready within 24 hours. We will email you when yours is ready. Bring a truck or trailer and a second pair of hands, because a large well is bulky rather than heavy and awkward to load alone.
Measuring before you order
Three numbers, in this order. Width runs along the foundation wall and should clear the window opening on both sides. Projection is how far the well stands out from the wall. Height is from finished grade down to where the base will sit. If the hole is already dug, measure the hole rather than the window.
If you are replacing rather than installing new, measure the window and the excavation, not the existing steel. Decades in the ground change a well's dimensions.
Common questions from Calgary
What does Calgary require for a basement bedroom window?
The governing document is the Alberta Building Code (NBC 2020 AE), administered locally through your municipal building department. A 30 inch projection gives 762 mm of clearance in front of the window. The window itself has its own opening requirement, so confirm both before you order.
Do you deliver to Calgary?
Yes. We ship to every province and territory in Canada. Delivery is curbside on a liftgate truck and somebody needs to be there to receive it.
How much does shipping a window well to Calgary cost?
Nothing, if you collect it — pickup at the plant is free and orders are usually ready within 24 hours. If you would rather it was delivered, shipping is a flat $189.99 CAD per order, the same rate anywhere in Canada.
Can I get a size that is not listed?
Yes. We manufacture in our own shop, so any width, projection or height is possible. Send the three measurements and we will quote it for delivery to Calgary.
The numbers above reflect the national code and common local practice. They are not a ruling on your property. Your building department in Calgary, working under Alberta Municipal Affairs, has the final say.
